Sinta Wullur – Gamelan Merdeka Lecture & Workshop

Gamelan which is broken away from its Javanese and Balinese tradition is the theme of the lecture / workshop.

For the cross pollination of East and West music, a gamelan orchestra is specially made in Indonesia in tuning of the piano, unlike its traditional tuning.  With this new concept it is possible to create music that connects western music with the sound of gamelan.  Coinciding with the commemoration of the 80th Independence Day of Indonesia this year, the title of this lecture / workshop is “Gamelan Merdeka”
